JIMNA ROCKS FESTIVAL

May 1st-May 2nd 2021 

The May Day Long weekend will come alive in the Somerset region Nth west of Brisbane in the beautiful bush setting at Jimna Base Camp situated just off the Kilcoy highway, One hour 30 min from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

22 acts will converge on Jimna for a weekend of Live music and camping in an outdoor setting celebrating the diversity we have here in our local scene.

Acts will range from Indie and Pop to Blues and Rock and everything in between.

A line up that will showcase some of the best local performers and bands who have taken a hit with covid limiting their options of venues and events to play.

Limited tickets are available to camp on site at Jimna Base Camp.

MMK Music Promotions has gathered together solo artists, duo's and some of the hottest acts in  Sth East Qld. Taking it out of indoor venues to the outdoors after dealing with the devastating effects on the Music industry during 2020 with Covid 19.

This will be a Covid safe event and the local Jimna community will host a two day market on site from

9am - 2pm 

Plenty of delicious food options  will be on offer with a variety of food vendors on site.

The event is BYO and the nearest conveniences are 35km away at Kilcoy for groceries and ATM.

When tickets are exhausted for onsite camping at Jimna Base Camp you can purchase a day pass and take advantage of camping at Peach Tree National Park situated 3.9km from Jimna Base Camp.

Willie Du Fre  Toowoomba 12- 12.30pm 

Willie Du Fré is a solo musician from Toowoomba. His sound can broadly be described as roots rock, as he draws on old blues, folk and country music. He is a thoughtful singer songwriter whose biggest influences include Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and the Stones. He's a guitar player who can very much play rhythm and blues, as he weaves bluesy licks in-between chords and riffs. He's now based in Brisbane and quickly getting a feel for the scene.

Saint Skirts Brisbane

Saint Skirts are an Indie pop acoustic duo. Long term friends ​Natalie & Ailish share a love of music. This beautiful duo harmonizes with sweet melodies. They put their own twists on timeless classics and popular mainstream songs. Their original music shows an innocence that’s endearing. They encourage crowd participation and love sharing their music.

Alex Kosenko Brisbane 1.30pm – 2.00 pm 

Multi – Instrumentalist     

Alex Kosenko is a traveling Artist from Brisbane.

His music is driven from his love of traveling and performing. Alex now has his sound well sealed into the Brisbane Blues and Roots scene. His sound is a unique blend of Folky Blues and Roots accompanied by his inventive electric sound. Fuse this with his dynamic live shows and high energy performances that leave the audiences fully immersed..

Monsters Up  North OXLEY 2.20pm- 2.50pm 

Brisbane-based Alternative Punk trio defined in April 2020. Creating an entertaining blend between danceable pop punk anthems paired with crestfallen and haunting lyrics. Known for their energetic live performances and the heartfelt screams of vocalist Lachy Kerr.

3 Hour Flight   Brisbane   

3.05 - 3.35 pm

3 Hour Flight are a Brisbane based four piece pop punk/easycore band. They are set on getting their songs stuck in your head.

Three out of the four guys are originally from Cairns.and moved to Brisbane in 2019.

Local Brisbane guitarist Jordan was recruited  and a band was formed.

Now the guys are getting used to living in a city that actually has fewer crocodiles than people.

From 2019 they have been spreading their good vibes 

Deaf Poet Society Brisbane

3.50pm – 4.20pm 

Hard rock’n’roll for insomniacs that don’t respond to hard drugs.

DEAF POET SOCIETY is a band for people that like their songs catchy as hell, and guitars distorted and loud.

Ravindra Sunshine Coast   

4.35pm - 5.15pm 

Dark. Melancholic and layered. Ravindra is a grunge rock band that also fuses the divergent sounds of sax, flute and piano solos. Ravindra, is the originals project of Ravind

Sangha. Ravind has spent his adult life as a professional

musician based in Amsterdam. He has played in major international music festivals in Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy, England, Australia and Malaysia, and toured in those countries as well as in France, Denmark and Japan.

Ravind will perform on Vocals as well as Guitar, Saxes flute, and piano, joined by Shanan Kilner guitar, Chris Macdonald vocals and instrumental, Charlie Dolbel Bass, Jack Gooden keys and Casper Hall Drums (The Urban Sea)

Ella Vice Brisbane   6.30 pm- 7.00pm   Brisbane-based four-piece that blends genres of stoner rock, psych, and grunge, with a hint of punk sass. Renowned for their high energy

live shows, and led by frontwoman Roxanne Jeynes, you can expect loud, fuzzed riffs mixed with slabs of groove. ELLA VICE has released a mixed bag of singles, with QOTSA- inspired “Motor Running” coming in at #37 in the 4ZZZ Hottest 100 of 2019. They also recently took out the Mojo Burning band competition to land a coveted slot on the 2022 festival bill. With a new EP soon to be released in early 2021, ELLA VICE is set to bring riffs to a stage near you.

   KRAVE Brisbane 7.15- 7.45pm

                         

Brisbane based, Hard Rock trio KRAVE offer a tasteful & dynamic cross section of modern rock & alternative metal sure to leave you in a state of adrenaline.

Driving riffs, exceptional vocal power and energetic stage presence, Siana, Ryan and Sam's unparalleled passion and incredible hard work landed the band a Queensland Music grant!

Krave gives everything to their audience - Every song - Every show.

 

ROADHOUSE Brisbane 8pm - 8.30pm 

A  hard rockin' four piece Roadhouse on a mission to keep the rock 'n' roll spirit alive - spreading hard hitting, blood pumping tunes to the world.             

Companionship, skilled musicianship and insane energy come together to form active Aussie rock quartet Roadhouse from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Four best mates forming in early 2016, they have carved themselves a reputation for a blood pumping live show bolstering a large repertoire of well crafted, catchy modern rock anthems.

GOLDIE HORN TOOWOOMBA 8.45- 9.30pm 

 GOLDIE HORN are a heavy rock trio from Toowoomba with Jediah Boase on guitar and vocals.

This band knows how to ignite audiences with their signature sound and infectious rhythms.

Moulded around the blues Goldie Horn does not hold back with their relentless grooves , making for an energetic and engaging show.

Plenty of riffs and some solid bass lines with solid percussion , these guys have what it takes. 

TRIPSITTA 
Saint Skirts Saturday 12.45pm

TRIPSITTA are an energetic psychedelic/rock four-piece band. Their music is best described as the sound of the counterculture that lives and breathes in Australian night life. Powerful vocals matched with spine tingling electric guitar solo’s, energetic bass lines and infectious drums. Their sound is sure to have your head banging and heart racing.

  The Urban Sea 10pm

The Urban Sea are a genre-fluid melting pot of influences from rock to R&B with songs about the day-to-day ebb and flow of modern life. 6 members and an arsenal of instruments at their disposal, they are known for their huge live sound and performance.

The Urban Sea’s first single ‘Underground Love’ and their follow up debut self-titled EP were released in early 2020 and received national airplay on Double J and radio across the country. The boys are currently back in the studio recording their second offering due to be released 2021.

 Rhys started his musical career at 15. Influenced by the stylistic hallmarks of the blues. A very talented guitarist and song writer with a big future in music.

Dreams of Indigo are an indie rock band from the Gold Coast formed in 2016, and have toured the East Coast of Australia, from Yamba NSW to Airlie Beach QLD, playing venues

and festivals such as Buskers By The Creek and Airlie Beach Music Festival. Together they fuse guitar, drums, and bass with powerful lead vocals and harmonies, bringing to

life poetic prose creating a unique sound. From haunting emotive ballads, to rocking tunes that fill a dancefloor, they have something for everyone.

SHORES      3.20pm - 4pm  

Hailing from sunny Brisbane, SHORES are a feel-good mix of beachy surf-rock with a dose of millennial anxiety churned in. Their debut single, “Peach Street”. Was written whilst all living together.

A fun band with catchy tunes.

Passion Cactus  Brisbane    4.20 – 5pm  

Home-grown Brisbane rock band, in favor of love.

Passion cactus mix hard rock punk antics and the blues to give you one hell of a show.

Sinkin Schooners Brisbane  6.30pm - 7pm 

Sinkin' Schooners was conceived one drunk and stormy night in the heat of the Brisbane summer. Three best mates who shared a

love for heavy tripped out tunes and a good time on the beers started jamming, and the Schooners were born.

Stapylton Street

Brisbane    7.20pm – 8.05pm

Seamlessly flowing between folk, pop, reggae, and country rock. They creates playful and positive vibes through clever lyrics, upbeat tempos, and the use of a wide range of instruments.

Concrete Palms 8.30 - 9.15pm 

After bursting onto the Brisbane scene in 2018, Concrete Palms gained heavy traction in the South-East Queensland area. This culminated in opening slots for Aussie rock legends The Screaming Jets and Choirboys respectively in 2019, which saw the band wow audiences all over the state with their unique brand of 70’s inspired blues rock.

Not slowing down Concrete Palms will be rocking the Jimna Stage. 

The Wayward Suns 9.45pm - 10.45pm

Their deep-funk rhythm section is peppered with the melodic counterpoint of sizzling guitar lines and powerful turntable samples, complimented by a rootsy growl that juxtaposes the DJ/MC’s conscious hip-hop lyricism.

Jimna has a great bonfire and it will be welcomed in the cooler weather , warm clothing is advised as the temperature can drop down at night. 

This event is BYO, drink responsibly and remember to be kind to each other.

Community Club House will open from 2pm - 10pm Saturday and Sunday for a cold beverage.

Amazing food will be on offer from Mexican with Mamacitas , Chicken wings and burgers as well as Japanese festival food. Sweet treats from Whips & Co and many other treats inclulding Coffee .  Ice is  aslo available on site. 

Pack up the tent, the esky and a comfy chair and we will see you at Jimna this May long weekend.

Jimna is a small town of around 60 residents, we would love to be welcomed back next year so please be mindful of this with after hours noise and when leaving the area.
