MMK Music Promotions has bought together a 22 band line up in the Aussie bush for the May Day long weekend 2021. Camping, BYO, acoustic artists through to some of the hottest acts and bands in the local South East Qld Live music scene.

 

After the impact on the industry during 2020 MMK Music Promotions have organized

2 days and 2 nights of live music Nth west of Brisbane. Jimna Rocks to be held at Jimna Base camp over the long weekend in May. The event will free the mind of stress and support the live music industry and the many artists involved in the first event of its kind supporting the local South East Qld scene.

23 acts will converge at Jimna Base Camp, nth west of the Brisbane CBD on the Kilcoy highway. Live bands in the Aussie bush with an amazing light show from Mix Maniac Sound and Lighting. Live music under the stars.

 

Jimna Rocks will be a family friendly event and tickets will be limited for camping on site. Pack the tent and a comfy chair and hit the road to north of Brisbane to The Somerset Region / Sunshine Coast Hinterland for the long weekend. Get your group together. Its BYO and some delicious options will be available from the food vendors and stalls on site. Jimna local Market will be happening from 9am – 2pm daily in the community hall.

 

Gates open from 8am Saturday morning May 1st and the music commences at midday through till 11pm.

 

Sunday May 2nd starts with some Acoustic blues from midday and goes through the day showcasing plenty of talented acts through to The Wayward Suns closing on Sunday night.

 

Day passes do not include camping on site. Camping can be arranged off site at various locations in the area including Peach Tree National Park 4 km away from Jimna Base Camp.

 

Blues guitarist and solo performer Willie Du Fré from Toowoomba will open the event at Midday Saturday. The young solo musician whose sound can broadly be

described as roots rock, drawing on old blues, folk and country music. A singer songwriter whose biggest influences include Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and the Stones.

 

Nth Brisbane Duo Saint Skirts will draw you in with their harmonies and sweet innocence playing some original music and some popular covers with a Saint Skirts twist.

 

Alex Kosenko is a multi-instrumentalist who has an exceptional grasp on the blues for one so young. Alex is a natural performer and is also known as front man for the band “Concrete Palms”. His solo performance will include many of his original songs with exceptional guitar skills and blues harp.

Monsters up North 

Monsters Up North are a Brisbane-based Alternative Indie-Punk trio defined in April 2020 by original founding member Lachy Kerr (Vocals/Guitar), Cory Neal (Drums/Percussion) & Max Lyall (Bass/Keys).

A Brisbane based four-piece pop punk/easycore band 3 Hour Flight have their hearts set on getting songs stuck in your head. Three out of four of the members are originally from Cairns. The trio made the move to Brisbane in 2019. They added guitarist Jordan and are now getting used to living in a city that actually has fewer crocodiles than people.

Deaf Poet Society are a hard rock’n’roll band for insomniacs that don’t respond to hard drugs. A band for people that like their songs catchy as hell, and guitars distorted and loud.

Ravindra is new to the Brisbane scene having come together from members of Popular Brisbane band “The Urban Sea”. Dark Melancholic and layered. Ravindra is a grunge rock band that also fuses the divergent sounds of sax, flute and piano solos.

Brisbane-based four-piece band Ella Vice blend genres of stoner rock, psych, and grunge, with a hint of punk sass. Renowned for their high-energy live shows, and led by frontwoman Roxanne Jeynes, you can expect loud, fuzzed riffs mixed with slabs of groove. ELLA VICE has released a mixed bag of singles, with QOTSA-inspired “Motor Running” coming in at #37 in the 4ZZZ Hottest 100 of 2019. They also recently took out the Mojo Burning band competition to land a coveted slot on the

2022 festival bill. With a new EP soon to be released in early 2021.

 

Brisbane Hard Rock trio KRAVE are showing no signs of slowing down in 2021! KRAVE offer a tasteful & dynamic cross section of modern rock & alternative metal sure to leave you in a state of bone buzzing adrenaline with driving riffs, exceptional vocal power and energetic stage presence. Through Siana, Ryan and Sam's unparalleled passion and incredible hard work, the band landed a Queensland Music Grant. Krave gives everything to their audience - Every song - Every show.

Roadhouse are a hard rockin' four piece Roadhouse on a mission to keep the rock 'n' roll spirit alive - spreading hard hitting, blood pumping tunes to the world at every gig and on every track. Hit up a show, stream up our tunes and come join the family.

Companionship, skilled musicianship and insane energy come together to form  this active Aussie rock quartet from Brisbane. Four best mates forming in early 2016, they have carved themselves a reputation for a blood pumping live show bolstering a large repertoire of well crafted, catchy modern rock anthems.

 

Goldie Horn are a heavy rock trio from Toowoomba with Jediah Boase on guitar and vocals. A band with a signature sound and infectious rhythms and high energy stage performance. Goldie Horn capture their audience and take them on a journey of blues based hard rock with plenty of groove and prowess.

TRIPSITTA are an energetic psychedelic/rock four-piece band. Their music is best described as the sound of the counterculture that lives and breathes in Australian night life. Powerful vocals matched with spine tingling electric guitar solo’s, energetic bass lines and infectious drums. Their sound is sure to have your head banging and heart racing.

The Urban Sea Brisbane  10pm – 10.45pm

The Urban Sea are a genre-fluid melting pot of influences from rock to R&B with songs about the day-to-day ebb and flow of modern life. 6 members and an arsenal of instruments at their disposal, they are known for their huge live sound and performance.

The Urban Sea’s first single ‘Underground Love’ and their follow up debut self-titled EP were released in early 2020 and received national airplay on Double J and radio across the country. The boys are currently back in the studio recording their second offering due to be released 2021.

 

Sunday at Midday the day starts with talented Brisbane artist Rhys Lee. Rhys is a singer song writer/performer/busker and skilful guitarist. Also known as a session musician Rhys started his musical career at 15. Heavily Influenced by the stylistic hallmarks of the blues. A very talented South east Qld guitarist and song writer with a big future in music.

Johan Danno 

Growing up in South Florida, Johan Danno's love of music came from his family.  His grandmother, a concert pianist, would have the family singing together every holiday. Paying for Johan's guitar lessons in his teens, Johan feel in love with music, writing music, and in her memory got her last letter tattooed on his arm "Please keep well, keep playing, & Keep loving!"

Developing his sound from his love for Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and Trevor Hall, music and meditation was the medication that changed his life. Selling everything after college and buying a one-way ticket to Australia, Johan returned 8 years later a seasoned live musician that left a budding corporate career to shift the world toward hope and unity through his music!

Hailing from sunny Brisbane, SHORES are a feel-good mix of beachy surf-rock with a dose of millennial anxiety churned in. Their debut single, “Peach Street”. Was written whilst all living together. A fun band with catchy tunes, think Sticky Fingers they have the good vibes going on.

 

Dreams of Indigo are an indie rock band from the Gold Coast formed in 2016.The band have toured the East Coast of Australia, from Yamba NSW to Airlie Beach QLD, playing venues and festivals such as Buskers By The Creek and Airlie Beach Music Festival. Together they fuse guitar, drums, and bass with powerful lead vocals and harmonies, bringing to life poetic prose creating a unique sound. From haunting emotive ballads, to rocking tunes that fill a dancefloor, they have something for everyone.

Passion Cactus are a home-grown Brisbane rock band, in favor of love. Passion cactus mix hard rock punk antics and the blues to give you one hell of a show.
 

Sinkin' Schooners was conceived one drunk and stormy night in the heat of the Brisbane summer. Three best mates who shared a love for heavy tripped out tunes and a good time on the beers started jamming, and the Schooners were born.

Stapylton Street from Brisbane seamlessly flow between folk, pop, reggae, and country rock. The band creates playful and positive vibes through clever lyrics, upbeat tempos, and the use of a wide range of instruments.

 

Concrete Palms After bursting onto the Brisbane scene in 2018, Concrete Palms gained heavy traction in the South-East Queensland area. This culminated in opening slots for Aussie rock legends The Screaming Jets and Choirboys respectively in 2019, which saw the band dazzle audiences all over the state with their unique brand of 70’s inspired blues rock.

 

 

The Wayward Suns from the Gold Coast will be closing the event with their blues- funk hip-hop fusion. AUS Battle of the Bands winners, 2017 GC Album of the Year nominees (2018), and Coffs Harbour’s Rolling Sets Festival main stage winners (2020). THE WAYWARD SUNS weave together raw, earthy instrumentation, with spirited vocal delivery and a “textured, rhythmic blend of genres” (Happy Magazine,

2018).The band pleasure in creating a collage of sounds that'll leave you hanging on every note. Their deep-funk rhythm section is peppered with the melodic

counterpoint of sizzling guitar lines and powerful turntable samples, complimented by

a rootsy growl that juxtaposes the DJ/MC’s conscious hip-hop lyricism.
