MMK Music Promotions started on the Atherton Tablelands in 2004. Coming into the live music scene to support Her eldest son in his pursuit of becoming a working musician.

The business was launched on Myspace, discovering new sounds and promoting bands by marketing their music to others both in Australia and overseas. Events were organised for "Echoed Silence", this led to giving others the chance to continue playing. The Early Years were about learning the industry and how things worked in the local live music scene. In that time we had the pleasure of working with bands such as The Angels, Screaming Jets, Wish for Wings, Japunga, 28 days, Butterfly Effect and many more.

Mentoring and managing came about through working with a young upcoming Punk Band called "SHUB" in Cairns. The business brought punk bands from around Australia to the north. These events took place at The Cape York Hotel, Edge Hill Tavern and Freakquency in Cairns.

In 2007 at Cairns Freakquency Night Club gigs were run on a weekly basis and where called "Thunderstruck Thursdays". The events enabled fans who where starved for live music in the area to see 3 to 5 bands play both local and touring.

Through working closely with Metal Of Honour in Brisbane the business was able to book bands for Metal Mayhem that was held over 5 weeks between Townsville and Cairns. Fifteen Metal bands toured to the North to showcase their music for that event.

Metal Mayhem was run at Bombay Rock in Townsville and Toms Tavern in  Aitkenvale in the suburbs. The business was involved with booking bands to play at The Exchange Hotel in the inner city  in Townsville.

In June of 2008 “ROCKFEST“ was organised, this saw bands come together from around Australia to play Freakquency  Nite Club in Cairns  on a Thursday night and Bombay Rock in Townsville on  the Friday night.

The event was in support of independent musicians and was run worldwide. Bands that played “ROCKFEST“ were Sleeplever Melbourne, Mark Cashin & The Lil Hussys Central Coast NSW, Sonorcast Sydney, Each Revolving Door Brisbane, Miacarla Gold Coast and Echoed Silence & Eyeless Youth Cairns.

MMK events were run out of The Grand Hotel in Cairns, “Rock out with your Croc out" showcased original local and touring bands. Bands that travelled north in 2008 to play an MMK event were Kill The Apprentice, Noxious, Nine Iron, The Pints and Black Market to name a few.

Forward to Brisbane 2012 where MMK was launched again and events were run out of The Prince of Wales Hotel Nundah on the North side of Brisbane. after 2 years  on the north side of Brisbane the MMK events moved to larger premises upstairs at the Indooroopilly Hotel in the western suburbs of Brisbane in 2014. The venue was known as “VIBE".

at this time MMK Music Promotions started  running events out of Currumbin Creek Tavern and Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast.

In conjunction with Metal Roos MMK organised the first Metal United Down Under “MUDU” in Brisbane and had a huge turn out of nearly 400 people with 13 bands to entertain them from 12 till 12.

Following this up the following  year running the event at the New Globe Theatre in Fortitude Valley with 13 bands that covered every genre of metal.

In November of 2015 MMK ran its last event at the Globe in Fortitude Valley hosting her son and his band of brothers in Darkcell.

MMK services where requested by “NOXIOUS” in January 2016 to put on a comeback show at  The Woolly Mammoth in Fortitude Valley.

In January  of 2019 MMK was back running events at the Prince of Wales Hotel North Brisbane where it all started .

The shows were a success and  were  bringing live music to the POW every first, third and fifth Friday.

All genre of music from Metal to Rock with upcoming and emerging artists and established bands.

Covid  hit  the South east in March 2020 and the Prince Of Wales closed its doors to live music and the events ceased and our  world as we knew it had changed.

Forward to July 2020 MMK moved into the Woolly mammoth Mane Stage in Fortitude Valley.

The first event was Metal and there were no restrictions , we made the news anyway as the media were now onto crowds gathering and dancing to music.

Restrictions came back into place and the venue capacity was cut to 25% and there was no dancing allowed and many events went ahead as  sit down shows and  with no dancing.

By Jan / Feb 2021 we had  events  with face masks required but the shows went on but with high costs and limited capacity and the fear of going out making  the events not financially  viable .

May 2021 MMK Music Promotions along with  the help  of a great production crew Mix Maniac Sound and Lighting  Jimna Rocks 2021 happened.

23 Bands gathered 2 hours north of Brisbane on the May Day long Weekend for 2 days and nights of live music and camping in the Aussie bush.

Connections were made and friendships forged after a hard year for the music industry  Jimna bought the people together.

There was a freedom of sharing moments with friends and family and enjoying some of the best on offer  scouted from the MMK events.

MMK Music Promotions has always been about getting it out there via social media as well as running events supporting local and touring bands via promotion and marketing as well as networking.

Get out and support your local bands , you can't download a live experience.

"Networking is a beautiful thing"
